Partners Hospice, a member of Partners Home Care is a nonprofit organization that provides holistic, advanced, multidisciplinary care for our hospice patients. Our team is comprised of the most qualified and compassionate individuals in hospice. Right now we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Hospice Director to lead our team into the next phase of our growth.

As the Hospice Director, the chosen candidate will lead Partners Hospice by managing the day-to-day operations with the goal of providing high-quality, cost-effective clinical care and administrative services. In order to reach these goals, you will direct a team of highly-skilled clinical managers comprised of Patient Care Managers, Social Work Manager, and Bereavement Manager. The Hospice Director will set the strategic direction of the company while operating within the framework of the organizational goals, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and maintaining a staff with the highest level of competence and productivity.

Responsibilities include:

- Evaluating staffing needs to meet patient volume and recruiting, evaluating, and retaining high quality and competent staff.
- Develop productivity standards based on industry standards and best practices. Monitor that productivity to be sure that it is maintained and intervene and develop pro-active strategies if that productivity does not meet standards.
- Participate in National Benchmarking surveys such as Press Ganey and evaluate results in order to make improvements to maintain a high ranking.
- Participate in the development of the fiscal year budget with Sr. Management. Manage the budget by setting goals and strategies to achieve positive financial outcomes. Pro-actively monitor patient volume and clinical productivity, make adjustments, as appropriate, to ensure budget goals are met.
- Provide strong leadership to the management team, which includes but is not limited to providing opportunities for professional growth and encouraging collaboration.
- Manage a strong sales team. Design territories and monitor the development of new businesses or alliances. Ensure patient volume is increased due to their efforts.
- Resolve patient/family complaints that can’t be resolved at the manager level, providing solutions that leave a positive impression of Partners Hospice and the Partners organization.
- Initiate and/or participate in marketing calls. Monitor the local hospice industry to determine where sales and marketing calls will have the most impact to increase patient volume.
- Ensure that volunteer staff is well-trained and meets hospice regulatory requirements.
- Meet with donors, as appropriate.


Qualified applicants must have a Bachelors degree in Nursing, Management, or a related field. A Masters degree is a preferred. If the applicant is a Registered Nurse, current MA state licensure is required. Seven to ten years of previous experience in hospice and/or home health care is required.
